SOLO ELECTRIC TROMBONE

Christian performs solo and collaborative works using software instruments he created with the MAX/MSP graphical environment. Using a system of sensors attached to his valve trombone and a keyboard controller as interfaces to the software, the instruments allow powerful control over the manipulation of sampled sounds including live-sampling and live-processing.

Christian creates compositions made up of short mini-compositions woven together in unpredictable ways. For his source material he often chooses everyday objects or spaces and prepares them to be available for instant integration during performance.
